"The Encounter"


A hand was resting on the table in front of me in a sleepy
fist. Suddenly it flipped on its back and opened its fingrs as
if asking to have its palm read.
But as I looked into its lines it suddenly flew up and
slapped my face.
I began to cry...
Then this same hand lifted and began to wipe my tears
away...

Uma mão fechada, em frente a mim, dormitava sobre a
mesa. Voltou-se subitamente e abriu os dedos como se me
pedisse para lhe ler a palma.
Mas, enquanto lhe observava as linhas saltou subitamente
e deu-me uma bofetada.
Comecei a chorar...
E essa mesma mão levantou-se e limpou-me as lágrimas
do rosto...
